About me
Hello, my name is Stefan Riedl, and I am an experienced business lawyer with a law degree from Germany specializing in corporate structuring, mergers & acquisitions, and foreign direct investment. Having lived in Thailand for almost 20 years, I am, like my co-authors, a partner at the international law firm Blumenthal Richter & Sumet (BRS). I advise entrepreneurs, owner-managed businesses, and large multinational corporations—particularly from Europe and the U.S.—on market entry and expansion strategies. I am also a member of the Munich Bar Association.

In this blog, I share insights with a focus on contract matters and legal updates that affect foreign investors. While I often work with clients on complex corporate transactions and M&A deals, my goal here is to offer a broader perspective on legal issues and how they impact businesses operating in the region.
Beyond my professional life, I am a passionate foodie, always exploring the culinary scene in Thailand, Southeast Asia, and especially Japan. At the office, however, you’ll often find me eating fresh salad with Austrian Kernöl (pumpkin seed oil) —something I personally import from my trusted Kernöl supplier. My colleagues get a good laugh out of it, but I can tell you, Kernöl keeps the engine running!
I am always eager to engage in discussions about legal developments or any other topics of interest to entrepreneurs and business owners. To get in touch, simply use our contact form and select me as the point of contact.
