About me
Hello and welcome! My name is Andreas C. Richter, and I am a seasoned lawyer with deep connections to both Germany and Thailand. Holding dual citizenship of both countries, I have called Thailand home for more than 30 years. As a Senior Partner at Blumenthal Richter & Sumet (BRS), I have played a key role in shaping the firm into one of the country’s leading independent business law firms with global reach.
I specialize in corporate, commercial, and business law, advising North American, European, Chinese, and Japanese multinational corporations across various industries on their legal needs in Thailand and the region. To better serve our major Asian clients, I established the Japan and China Desks at BRS, staffed with licensed Japanese and Chinese attorneys and supported by partner law firms in Tokyo and Greater China. These dedicated teams provide strategic legal guidance to Chinese and Japanese corporate clients operating in Thailand, as well as Thai companies investing in China.
Beyond my legal practice, I have been actively involved in international business organizations. I served on the Board of Directors of the German-Thai Chamber of Commerce for nearly 20 years, including terms as Vice President and President, and as Regional Vice-Chair on the International Board of Directors of INTERLAW, a London-based global network of independent business law firms.
Education is another passion of mine. As Chairman of the Board of Trustees at the International School Bangkok, I focus on long-term strategic decision-making and high-level operational oversight of a nonprofit private school, helping to cultivate the next generation of young global leaders.
Outside of work, I am a dedicated family man, always striving to balance my professional responsibilities with quality time spent with my loved ones. I also enjoy running and regular workouts, which help keep me active and energized.
